I’m a big believer in the power of story-driven marketing. I help startups and entrepreneurs create strategic plans and tactical execution that accelerate their marketing efforts – everything from messaging and brand positioning to planning and content creation. My approach is hands-on, collaborative and engaged. I have helped dozens of startups and fast-growing companies take their marketing to the next level. Here’s my story
My work with startups began during the dot-com boom (in hindsight, not the best timing!) when a friend convinced me to leave newspaper journalism to launch a software company with him. I then worked with three startups before getting laid off in 2008. Now what? Armed with a small severance package, I decided to start my own business. Pretty soon, I began to be approached by startups looking for all kinds of marketing help. The rest, as they say, is history.
I write a blog about marketing and a newsletter with 2,000 subscribers that features curated content about startups. I also self-published a book, Storytelling for Startups, which helps entrepreneurs tell better stories. I’m a mentor with HIGHLINE, and an advisor to The Next 36 and Venture for Canada. When not working with startups or writing, I play a lot of hockey and tennis, and take long summer vacations (the most recent was South America).
